Elangeni TVET College is also accepting applications for the 2027 academic year.

The college's official website currently lists 2027 online applications for selected programmes as open, while its registration-advert page specifically lists NC(V) applications for 2027 and Occupational Programme applications for 2027 during September 2026. Applications are online only.

Elangeni has campuses including Inanda, KwaMashu, KwaDabeka, Pinetown, Mpumalanga, Ndwedwe, Ntuzuma and Qadi.

Prospective students should check the latest programme advert for the specific course they want before applying.

The college offers programmes in areas including:

  • Electrical Engineering

  • Financial Management

  • Hospitality and Tourism
  • Human Resource Management

5. uMfolozi College

uMfolozi College has announced that 2027 applications for NC(V) and Occupational programmes are open. The college published its 2027 NC(V) online application announcement on 4 September 2026, and its current website continues to display the 2027 application announcement.

uMfolozi is one of KwaZulu-Natal's public TVET colleges and operates several campuses.

Applicants should visit the official college application platform to see which programmes and campuses are accepting applications for the 2027 intake.

6. False Bay TVET College

False Bay TVET College has opened applications for the 2027 academic year. Current 2027 application information covers programmes offered through the college, including areas such as Engineering, ICT, Business, Education, Hospitality, Maritime and Tourism.

The college also offers occupational programmes in areas such as computer technology, electrical work, fitting and turning, mechanical fitting, welding, automotive-related fields and other occupational disciplines.

Applicants should check the college's official application portal for the programme-specific closing date before applying.

Important: False Bay has stated that its 2027 distance-learning intake will not accept new students; only existing N5-to-N6 students will be considered for distance learning in 2027 because of the transition from NATED qualifications to Occupational Qualifications.

Applications Are Closing Soon

Prospective TVET students should act quickly because the national 2027 TVET application period is already underway.

DHET has specifically encouraged prospective students to make use of the September 2026 application window rather than waiting until January 2027.

The South African Government has stated that prospective students can apply for admission to public TVET colleges until 30 September 2026 for the 2027 academic year.

However, individual colleges and programmes can have different application arrangements, so applicants should always check the official college website before relying on a closing date.

What Documents Do You Need?

Applicants should generally prepare electronic copies of documents such as:

  • South African ID document or passport
  • Latest school results or Grade 12 certificate, where applicable
  • Proof of residence
  • Parent/guardian documentation where required
  • Other programme-specific supporting documents

For example, Sedibeng requires applicants to have their ID, relevant school results and proof of residence available for the application process.

Applicants should make sure that documents are clear and meet the individual college's requirements.

Don't Forget NSFAS Funding

Students who require financial assistance should also apply for NSFAS funding separately from their college admission application.

The official NSFAS website states that applications for the 2027 academic year opened on 18 September 2026 and close on 31 October 2026. Applying for NSFAS is free.

This means students should complete both processes where applicable:

  1. Apply for admission to the TVET college.
  2. Apply separately for NSFAS funding.

An application for funding does not replace an application for admission to a college.

Apply Before the Deadline

With the 2027 academic year approaching, students interested in vocational, technical and occupational training should investigate their preferred programmes and submit applications as soon as possible.

The colleges confirmed on their current official websites as accepting 2027 applications include Sedibeng, Vuselela, Elangeni, Maluti, uMfolozi and False Bay TVET College.

Application information can change quickly, so applicants should verify the programme, campus and closing date directly with the college before submitting an application.
