About the Opportunity
Air Products South Africa is offering an exciting learnership opportunity within its Packaged Gases Department at the Mid-Vaal Facility. This programme is aimed at unemployed young South Africans who are interested in developing practical skills and industry knowledge in Chemical Plant Operations.
Successful candidates will participate in a structured 12-month Chemical Plant Machine Operator Learnership, gaining valuable workplace experience in a leading industrial gas manufacturing environment.
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Grade 12 (Matric) with Mathematics and Physical Science
Skills and Competencies
- Good verbal communication skills
- Strong organisational abilities
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
Eligibility Criteria
Applicants must:
- Be South African citizens
- Be between 22 and 30 years of age
- Be currently unemployed
- Have never participated in a learnership programme before
- Reside in Meyerton or surrounding communities within a 40km radius of the Mid-Vaal Facility, including areas such as Sicelo, Evaton, Tembisa Park, and nearby locations
Key Responsibilities
- Participate in a 12-month Chemical Plant Machine Operator Learnership Programme
- Gain practical exposure to plant operations and manufacturing processes
- Complete all workplace learning and development requirements
- Adhere to company safety standards, policies, and operational procedures
- Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members to support plant operations
