Minimum Requirements

The South African Police Service (SAPS) is looking for dedicated and reliable individuals to fill Cleaner positions within the Crime Intelligence Division.

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

• South African citizenship (proof required).
• ABET Level 4, Grade 9, Standard 7, or an equivalent NQF Level 1 qualification recognised by SAQA.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English and at least one other official South African language.
• Basic reading, writing, numeracy, and communication skills.
• Knowledge of cleaning chemicals, equipment, and Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) procedures.
• Ability to operate basic cleaning equipment and work professionally with colleagues.
• Willingness to work overtime when required.

Key Responsibilities

Successful candidates will be responsible for maintaining a clean, hygienic, and safe working environment by:

• Cleaning offices, workstations, corridors, and other SAPS facilities.
• Dusting, polishing furniture, and cleaning floors.
• Vacuuming carpets and mopping tiled surfaces.
• Cleaning kitchens, bathrooms, and other communal areas.
• Collecting and disposing of refuse.
• Performing basic maintenance and upkeep of the assigned premises.
• Safely handling cleaning materials and equipment.
• Loading and unloading goods when required.
• Assisting with garden maintenance.
• Washing state vehicles, kitchen utensils, and equipment.
