Minimum Requirements

• Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
• Relevant experience transporting passengers and goods, preferably within a healthcare environment.
• Valid Code C1 (Code 10) manual driver's licence.
• Valid Public Driving Permit (PDP).

Essential Skills and Competencies

• Knowledge of the Western Cape Government Transport Circular of 2000.
• Excellent driving and road safety skills.
• Good knowledge of the Cape Peninsula road network.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong sense of responsibility, accountability, and reliability.
• Willingness to work overtime, standby shifts, weekends, public holidays, and after-hours when required.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely transport staff, passengers, goods, and equipment to various destinations.
• Provide transportation services throughout the Western Cape as required.
• Conduct routine vehicle inspections and basic maintenance checks.
• Report vehicle defects promptly and accurately.
• Maintain detailed and accurate vehicle logbooks.
• Ensure compliance with departmental transport policies and procedures.
• Keep assigned vehicles clean, roadworthy, and presentable at all times.
• Provide relief support to other staff members within the transport component when necessary.
