Ergo Mining is seeking a qualified and experienced Driver to join its operations in Brakpan, Gauteng. This permanent position is ideal for a professional truck driver who is committed to safety, efficiency, and delivering reliable transport services within a mining environment.

Key Responsibilities

As a Driver, your duties will include:

• Safely operating company trucks in accordance with company policies and road traffic regulations.
• Transporting plant materials, equipment, spare parts, consumables, chemicals (where authorised), and other operational items between sites.
• Conducting daily pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and reporting any defects.
• Ensuring company vehicles remain clean, roadworthy, and serviced according to maintenance schedules.
• Loading, transporting, and offloading goods safely to prevent damage or injury.
• Completing delivery notes, trip sheets, logbooks, inspection checklists, and other transport documentation accurately.
• Complying with all Safety, Health, Environment and Quality (SHEQ) standards and company procedures.
• Reporting accidents, incidents, unsafe conditions, and near misses immediately.
• Assisting with loading, offloading, housekeeping, shutdowns, maintenance activities, and other operational duties when required.
• Handling and transporting hazardous materials safely where applicable.
• Maintaining effective communication with supervisors, dispatch personnel, stores, and operational teams.
• Working overtime, weekends, and public holidays when operational requirements demand.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants should have:

• Grade 12 (Matric) or an equivalent qualification.
• A valid Code 14 (EC) driver's licence.
• A valid Professional Driving Permit (PrDP).
• At least 5 years' truck driving experience, preferably in a mining or heavy industrial environment.
• Good knowledge of South African road traffic legislation.
• Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
• Ability to complete vehicle inspection reports and transport documentation accurately.
• Medical fitness to work in a mining environment.
• A clear criminal record.
• Residence within a 30 km radius of Ergo Operations.
