Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

• Grade 10 or an equivalent qualification recognised by SAQA.
• Between 7 and 12 months of relevant work experience.
• A valid driver's licence and a Professional Driving Permit (PDP).
  • Head Office (Polokwane): A valid Code 14 driver's licence with PDP is required.
  • District Posts: A valid driver's licence with PDP is required (persons with disabilities are exempt from the driver's licence requirement where applicable).

Knowledge and Skills

Candidates should demonstrate:

• Knowledge of operating government vehicles, including completing logbooks, obtaining trip authorisations, refuelling, and arranging basic vehicle maintenance.
• Understanding of policies governing the proper use of official vehicles.
• Knowledge of messenger duties and routine office support services.
• Good interpersonal, communication, customer service, time management, and driving skills.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidates will:

• Drive light and medium motor vehicles safely and efficiently.
• Ensure routine maintenance and proper care of allocated vehicles.
• Collect, transport, and deliver official documents and parcels.
• Provide messenger services and general administrative support when required.
