About the Role

Ampath Laboratories is seeking a dedicated General Assistant (Messenger) to support the smooth operation of its healthcare environment. The successful candidate will assist with the safe and timely delivery of documents, specimens, and essential items between wards, departments, and care centres. The role may also include maintaining cleanliness and hygiene standards where required.

This position is ideal for someone who is reliable, service-driven, and able to work effectively within a professional healthcare environment.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 certificate or equivalent qualification
• Experience in a healthcare or similar environment will be advantageous
• Ability to follow procedures and work professionally
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• Strong attention to detail and time management abilities
• Basic understanding of workplace safety procedures

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver specimens, documents, and other items accurately and on time
• Support hospital departments with messenger duties
• Assist in maintaining a clean and hygienic work environment
• Follow safety and confidentiality procedures at all times
• Work collaboratively with staff and support daily operational activities

Working Hours

• 45 hours per week
