Overview

The purpose of this role is to carry out a wide range of general maintenance and repair tasks across facilities. This includes multi-skilled work such as carpentry, plumbing, electrical repairs, painting, and general building upkeep. The role supports both reactive and preventative maintenance to ensure all facilities meet required standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect, repair, and maintain furniture such as tables and chairs
• Carry out general building maintenance and repairs
• Perform basic plumbing tasks (toilets, basins, taps, water systems, and blockages)
• Check and maintain electrical systems, lighting, air-conditioning, and other equipment
• Replace light fittings, bulbs, plugs, and related components under supervision
• Conduct painting and finishing work
• Assist with housekeeping audit corrections
• Help move office furniture and equipment when required
• Perform maintenance tasks across various Medipost sites
• Conduct routine inspections of buildings and equipment
• Inspect and maintain generators
• Assist with refuelling generators during and after power outages

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications

• Grade 12 (Matric)

Experience

• At least 2 years’ experience in general maintenance

Licensing & Training

• Valid Code 10 driver’s licence
• Training in GWP and SOP (advantageous)

• Good hand-eye coordination
• Strong concentration and attention to detail
• Ability to work with tools and machinery effectively
