The Department of Defence is inviting applications for 4 General Store Assistant positions within the South African Military Health Service. Successful candidates will assist with the safe handling, storage, issuing, and receiving of store equipment while ensuring compliance with safety regulations and standard operating procedures.

• Area Military Health Unit North West – Potchefstroom (Ref No: SG 01/24/26/29)
• Military Health Training Formation Headquarters – Pretoria (Ref No: SG 01/24/26/30)

Minimum Requirements:

• ABET qualification or equivalent.
• No previous experience required.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Good interpersonal skills.
• Basic numerical skills.
• Ability to work in a team and follow instructions.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist with the receiving, storing, and issuing of equipment and supplies.
• Ensure all goods are received in good condition and correctly recorded.
• Maintain accurate registers for stock received and issued.
• Comply with prescribed fire safety procedures (DD19).
• Operate and maintain fire extinguishing equipment where required.
• Support the efficient operation of the stores section.
• Carry out additional store-related duties as instructed by supervisors.
• Maintain a clean, organised, and safe storeroom environment.
