Job Overview

Anchor Holdings is looking for a reliable, hardworking and physically fit General Worker to assist with daily warehouse operations. The position is suited to candidates with FMCG experience who are comfortable working in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.

Job Purpose

The successful candidate will provide general labour support within the warehouse, including loading and offloading goods, cleaning, moving bulk stock and assisting with various warehouse activities. The role is focused on maintaining efficient operations, workplace safety and good housekeeping standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Load and offload cargo manually or with basic equipment.
• Handle goods carefully to prevent damage or losses.
• Guide and assist material-handling equipment (MHE) operators during loading and offloading.
• Sort, stack, palletise and move bulk stock.
• Assist with dispatch preparation and other warehouse duties.
• Maintain cleanliness in warehouse areas, loading bays, machinery areas, scales and storage zones.
• Remove waste, packaging and debris safely.
• Report safety hazards, damaged goods and other irregularities to supervisors.
• Assist forklift drivers, machine operators, tally clerks and supervisors when required.
• Operate basic warehouse tools and equipment responsibly.
• Report faulty or damaged equipment immediately.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

• National Senior Certificate (Matric).
• FMCG industry experience – essential.
• The physical ability to lift and move heavy items.
• Ability to follow instructions and work effectively as part of a team.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends and public holidays when required.
