About the Role

Alert Engine Parts, a division of Motus Corporation, is seeking a dependable and hardworking General Worker (Char) to join its Johannesburg branch. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining a clean, safe, and organised work environment while supporting warehouse operations, including receiving, binning, picking, and stock control activities.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric) certificate.
• Excellent attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Honest, reliable, and trustworthy.
• Good organisational and time management skills.
• Physically fit and capable of performing manual labour.
• Positive attitude with a willingness to assist where needed.

Key Responsibilities

Cleaning and Housekeeping

• Sweep, mop, vacuum, and polish floors.
• Dust and clean desks, furniture, shelving, and equipment.
• Maintain cleanliness in offices, reception areas, meeting rooms, and communal spaces.
• Empty waste bins and dispose of rubbish appropriately.
• Clean windows, doors, and other glass surfaces.
• Maintain kitchen facilities and wash cups, dishes, and utensils.
• Replenish consumables such as soap, paper towels, toilet paper, and hand sanitiser.
• Ensure restrooms remain clean and hygienic throughout the day.
• Safely use and store cleaning chemicals and equipment.
• Monitor cleaning supplies and report shortages.
• Report maintenance issues, hazards, or damaged equipment to management.
• Follow all company health and safety procedures.

Warehouse Operations

• Receive and inspect incoming stock according to company procedures.
• Allocate new products to the correct bin locations.
• Maintain accurate bin locations and report updates when required.
• Assist with stock replenishment from bulk storage to picking locations.
• Support stock counting and inventory control activities.

Picking and Order Fulfilment

• Pick customer and branch orders accurately and within required timeframes.
• Pick from bulk locations only when authorised or where necessary.
• Assist with stock-taking and inventory verification.
• Perform daily housekeeping within the warehouse.
• Conduct double-checks on picked orders to minimise errors and prevent stock losses.
• Follow operational procedures to maintain high customer service standards.
• Carry out all lawful instructions from supervisors.
• Consistently achieve operational productivity and performance targets.
