About the Position

Eskom Holdings SOC Ltd is seeking a General Worker to join the Construction Services team at Matla Power Station on a limited duration contract. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out general construction-related duties safely and efficiently while following instructions from supervisors, team leaders, and foremen.

Key Responsibilities

General Duties

• Perform general manual labour and construction support tasks as instructed
• Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of work areas, tools, and equipment
• Assist with site housekeeping and maintenance activities
• Follow all workplace safety procedures and regulations
• Support communication and stakeholder engagement where required

Safety and Compliance

• Adhere to SHE (Safety, Health and Environment) policies and procedures
• Follow Occupational Health and Safety regulations at all times

Skills Required

• Good physical fitness and stamina to perform manual duties
• Basic understanding of construction practices and safe working procedures
• Ability to work at heights safely
• Basic English communication skills
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Willingness to travel to different work sites and stay away from home for extended periods when required

Knowledge Requirements

• Awareness of workplace procedures
• Basic understanding of safety rules and regulations
• Knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety Act

Experience
