About the Role

The Facilities Management Team is looking for a General Worker to assist the plumbing team with maintenance and repair tasks as assigned by the Plumber. The role involves supporting daily maintenance operations across residential and commercial properties.

Minimum Requirements

• Valid Code 08 driver’s license
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in plumbing and maintenance
• Grade 12 (Matric) certificate
• Trade Test qualification will be advantageous
• Experience in facilities and building maintenance will be beneficial
• Basic understanding of Facility Management and building maintenance
• Knowledge of Health and Safety procedures
• Computer literacy in MS Outlook, Word, and Excel

Duties and Responsibilities

• Assist plumbers with maintenance and ad-hoc projects
• Provide maintenance support when required
• Install, repair, and maintain pipes, fittings, drainage systems, and fixtures
• Respond to plumbing and gas-related emergencies
• Carry out general maintenance tasks
• Repair leaks, replace geyser valves, fix toilet systems, and unblock drains
• Conduct routine inspections of plumbing, drainage, and gas systems
• Monitor meter readings on gas and hot water systems
• Inspect buildings weekly and report maintenance issues
• Investigate and repair high water usage across estates
• Remove illegal advertising boards around the estate
• Manage maintenance stock, tools, and supplies
• Complete job cards and maintenance records
• Follow health and safety procedures at all times
