A leading agricultural services company is looking for a motivated Laboratory Assistant to join its laboratory team in Isando. This is an excellent opportunity for individuals seeking to build a career in laboratory services, as no previous experience is required and full training will be provided.
The successful candidate will assist with sample preparation, laboratory housekeeping, equipment care, and general laboratory support while ensuring compliance with quality and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
Sample Preparation
- Prepare samples for laboratory analysis through splitting, milling, and drying.
- Perform moisture determination and other basic analytical procedures.
- Scan routine samples using Near Infrared (NIR) instruments.
- Ensure samples are processed accurately and within required turnaround times.
Laboratory Operations
- Clean and maintain laboratory equipment, utensils, and designated work areas.
- Wash laboratory glassware and plasticware promptly.
- Maintain the sample retention storage area and cold room.
- Assist with general laboratory waste management.
- Support the operation and maintenance of laboratory equipment.
Quality and Safety
- Follow all laboratory quality assurance and safety procedures.
- Contribute to maintaining a clean, organised, and safe working environment.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements
Education
- Grade 12 (Matric).
Experience
- No previous work experience is required.
- Full training will be provided.
