Our Origins

In 2012, Daniel Gibhard began offering business-to-business solutions focused on B-BBEE legal compliance. He worked closely with organisations to interpret and apply the B-BBEE Codes of Good Practice, including the coordination of Skills Development and training through external providers.

By 2014, Daniel recognised a critical gap in the market: many companies were paying excessive costs for training services that failed to deliver on their commitments. In response, he set out to create a reliable and transparent alternative. This initiative led to the formation of Skills Development Corporation (SDC), a specialist organisation dedicated to managing the Skills Development element of B-BBEE with integrity and efficiency.

Where We Are Today

Today, SDC enables businesses to maximise the value of their Skills Development initiatives through effective governance, administration, and regulatory compliance. When properly managed, Skills Development not only ensures compliance but also delivers meaningful growth and strong returns on investment.

Skills Development Corporation has built extensive expertise in the legislative and regulatory requirements of the B-BBEE framework and the Skills Development Act within South Africa. This knowledge allows us to help clients optimise both compliance outcomes and commercial benefits.
