Valterra Platinum invites applications for its Engineering Learnership Programme (18.2 Unemployed). This programme offers aspiring artisans the opportunity to gain practical, hands-on experience while building technical knowledge within the mining industry.

Available Learnership Opportunities

• Electrician (2 positions)

• Boilermaker (2 positions)

• Mechanical Fitter (2 positions)

• Diesel Mechanic (3 positions)

• Measurement Control & Instrumentation (2 positions)

• Auto Electrician (2 positions)

• Millwright (2 positions)

Minimum Entry Requirements

Applicants must meet one of the following:

• Matric with Mathematics (not Mathematical Literacy), Physical Science, and English (minimum 40% in each subject), OR

• N2 or higher qualification with four relevant subjects passed, including Mathematics and Engineering Science, aligned to the chosen trade, OR

• NCV Level 4 in the relevant trade, with a minimum 40% pass in all subjects.

Trade-Specific Subject Requirements

• Boilermaker: Platers/Welders Theory and Structural & Steelwork Drawings

• Electrical: Electrical Trade Theory and Industrial Electronics or Engineering Drawings

• Diesel Mechanic: Diesel/Motor Trade Theory and Engineering Drawings

• Mechanical Fitter: Fitting Trade Theory and Engineering Drawings

• Instrument Mechanician: Instrument Trade Theory and Industrial Electronics

• Auto Electrician: Motor Electrical Trade Theory and Industrial Electronics

• Millwright: Electrical and Fitting Trade Theories, Engineering Drawings or Industrial Electronics

Required Documents

• Certified copy of South African ID

• Proof of residence (for host community applicants, stamped by the relevant tribal authority or municipality)
