About the Opportunity

Momentum Health is looking for a detail-oriented Preauthorisation Administrator to join its Operations team. This role is responsible for reviewing, processing, and managing dental pre-authorisation requests while ensuring compliance with medical scheme rules, clinical protocols, and internal service standards. The successful candidate will help deliver efficient healthcare services by ensuring accurate assessments and timely communication with members and healthcare providers.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants should meet the following requirements:

  • Grade 12 (Matric).
  • A relevant tertiary qualification in Dental Assisting, Healthcare Administration, or a related field will be advantageous.
  • At least 2 years of experience in dental administration.
  • Previous experience with medical aid benefits, billing, and claims processing.
  • Between 1 and 3 years of experience in Managed Care Operations or pre-authorisation.
  • Good knowledge of medical scheme benefits, protocols, and healthcare funding structures.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Reviewing and processing dental pre-authorisation requests accurately and within agreed turnaround times.
  • Assessing requests in accordance with company policies, clinical guidelines, and scheme rules.
  • Capturing authorisation information across multiple digital systems.
  • Completing and maintaining accurate pre-authorisation records and documentation.
  • Identifying, escalating, and reporting system-related issues when necessary.
  • Communicating authorisation outcomes clearly to members, healthcare providers, and other stakeholders.
  • Monitoring requests to identify possible clinical concerns or fraudulent activity.
  • Meeting productivity, quality, and service delivery targets consistently.
