About the Opportunity

An exciting opportunity is available for a Procurement & Supply Chain Graduate to manage international purchasing and supply chain operations from start to finish. This role offers direct exposure to global suppliers, import logistics, and strategic procurement processes while working closely with senior leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the complete purchase order (PO) process, including raising, tracking, expediting, and closing orders.
  • Coordinate with European suppliers across Germany, France, Italy, and Spain regarding production schedules, shipping, and documentation.
  • Work closely with freight forwarding partners on shipment bookings, consolidations, and customs clearance.
  • Prepare and manage import documentation such as invoices, packing lists, bills of lading, certificates of origin, and SARS permits.
  • Monitor shipments from supplier dispatch through to final delivery.
  • Handle international supplier payments and maintain landed cost calculations.
  • Update and manage procurement information within the ERP system, including vendor bills and landed cost journals.
  • Develop strong supplier relationships and assist with pricing and contract negotiations.

Minimum Requirements

Essential

  • CIPS Graduate Diploma (Level 6) or currently completing the final level.
  • Good understanding of international procurement processes, Incoterms, import documentation, and landed costs.
  • Strong written English communication skills for daily interaction with international suppliers.
  • Confident working with multi-currency purchase orders, exchange rates, and cost calculations.
  • Excellent organisational and multitasking abilities.
  • Experience using ERP or procurement systems.

Advantageous

  • Experience within commercial kitchen equipment, hospitality, or food service industries.
  • Knowledge of South African import regulations, SARS customs processes, or ITAC permits.
  • Ability to speak an additional European language such as French, German, Italian, or Spanish.
  • Familiarity with Letters of Credit and trade finance processes.

Ideal Candidate

  • Self-driven and capable of working independently.
  • Detail-oriented with a strong focus on accuracy and follow-through.
  • Commercially aware and able to understand the financial impact of procurement decisions.
  • Comfortable working in a remote or hybrid environment.

Location

The company is based in Johannesburg, but the role offers hybrid or fully remote working options. Applications from candidates based in Europe, including Portugal, Eastern Europe, and the UK, are also welcome.
