Successful candidates will join the operations team across various Gauteng districts to streamline and support the agency's grant review processes.

Remuneration and Grading

  • Salary Scale: R170,226 – R200,523 per annum

  • Salary Level: Level 3

  • Additional Allowance: Plus 37% cash in lieu of standard benefits

Core Duties and Responsibilities

  • Conduct initial beneficiary screenings and verify supporting documentation.

  • Accurately capture, update, and manage applicant data on SASSA systems.

  • Perform administrative duties related to the grant review cycle.

Minimum Requirements

  • A valid Grade 12 / Matric certificate.

  • Fundamental literacy and numeracy skills.

  • Basic computer literacy and proficiency.

  • Advantageous: A recognized post-Matric qualification at an NQF Level 6 will be an added advantage.

Key Duties: Contract Workers (Grants Review)

  • Beneficiary & Application Support: Assist with applicant screenings, manual applications, and provide frontline support to beneficiaries throughout the entire review process.

  • Data Capture & Systems Update: Accurately input, maintain, and update grant data on the SOCPEN system and other official electronic platforms.

  • Validation & Compliance: Verify supporting documentation and validate beneficiary details; identify critical case irregularities such as suspensions, lapsing grants, overpayments, or recoveries.

  • Records Management: Prepare, scan, file, and index review documents to ensure audit readiness while maintaining strict information confidentiality.

  • Community Outreach: Conduct essential home visits to review frail or immobile beneficiaries, and support mobile or community-based field operations.

Minimum Requirements

  • A SAQA-recognized NQF Level 6 qualification in Financial Accounting or Financial Management.

  • Capture unallocated receipts and process official financial write-offs on the BAS system.

  • Log and record debts accurately using verified supporting documentation.

  • Assist with debt management processes, audit compliance, and the preparation of financial statements.
