About the Position

PRASA is looking for dedicated, customer-focused, and reliable individuals to join its team as Ticket Examiners. This role is ideal for candidates who enjoy working with people, ensuring compliance with ticketing regulations, and contributing to a safe and efficient passenger rail service.

As a Ticket Examiner, you will be responsible for checking and validating passenger tickets, assisting commuters with travel information, and promoting a positive customer experience while maintaining PRASA's operational standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Check and validate passenger tickets on trains and at stations.
• Ensure all passengers possess valid travel tickets or permits.
• Assist passengers with ticket-related enquiries and travel information.
• Report fare evasion and ticket irregularities in accordance with company procedures.
• Promote compliance with PRASA's ticketing policies.
• Provide excellent customer service to commuters.
• Assist with crowd control during busy travel periods.
• Report safety, security, and operational incidents.
• Work closely with station staff, train crews, and security personnel.
• Complete daily reports and administrative documentation accurately.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification.
• Previous customer service, security, or ticketing experience will be advantageous.
• Good verbal and written communication skills.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Ability to work shifts, weekends, public holidays, and overtime when required.
• Physically fit and able to stand or walk for extended periods.
• No criminal record.
