Valterra Platinum invites motivated, curious, and ambitious individuals to apply for its Engineering Learnership Programme (18.2 – Unemployed). This programme offers a valuable opportunity to gain practical workplace experience, strengthen technical skills, and build a solid foundation in engineering within the mining sector.

Minimum Entry Requirements

Applicants must meet one of the following criteria:

• Matric Certificate with Mathematics (not Mathematical Literacy), Physical Science, and English (minimum 40% pass in each), OR

• N2 qualification or higher with all four subjects passed, including Mathematics and Engineering Science, according to the specific trade requirements below:

Trade-Specific Requirements:

• Boilermaker: Plating/Welder Theory and Plating Structural & Steelwork Drawings

• Electrical: Electrical Trade Theory and Industrial Electronics or Engineering Drawings

• Diesel Mechanic: Diesel or Motor Trade Theory and Engineering Drawings

• Mechanical Fitter: Fitting Trade Theory and Engineering Drawings

• Instrument Mechanician: Instrument Trade Theory and Industrial Electronics

• Auto Electrician: Motor Electrical Trade Theory and Industrial Electronics

• Millwright: Electrical and Fitting Trade Theories, Engineering Drawings, or Industrial Electronics

• NCV Level 4 in the relevant trade with all subjects passed (minimum 40%)

• Proof of residence (for applicants from host communities), stamped by the relevant tribal authority or municipality
