About the Opportunity

Komatsu South Africa is offering an exciting 4-year Apprenticeship Programme for young individuals interested in building a career in the engineering and manufacturing industry.

The programme provides practical workplace training combined with technical learning in various specialised fields.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Learn and understand a variety of technical skills and engineering processes under the guidance of experienced technical staff
• Develop practical skills by working independently and as part of a team
• Successfully complete all prescribed apprentice modules in line with merSETA requirements
• Gain theoretical and practical knowledge throughout the training programme
• Learn and apply workplace health and safety standards
• Assist in maintaining workshop equipment and tools
• Maintain a logbook documenting completed projects and acquired skills
• Ensure good housekeeping and cleanliness within the workplace
• Maintain a professional appearance and conduct at all times
• Carry out additional duties related to the apprenticeship programme

Requirements

• Grade 12 (N3) with Mathematics
• Must currently be unemployed
• Applicants must have passed the following subjects at NQF Level 4:
  • Mathematics or Technical Mathematics (Mathematics Literacy will not be accepted)
  • Physical Science or Technical Science
  • N3 Electrical/Fitter Trade Theory and/or
  • N3 Mechanotechnology
