Job Overview
The City of Ekurhuleni is inviting applications for the position of Call Centre Operator within its emergency communication services division. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing emergency calls, dispatch communication systems, and maintaining accurate operational records in a fast-paced environment.
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / NQF Level 4 qualification
- At least 1 year of experience in a similar environment
Key Responsibilities
- Answer and manage incoming emergency calls via switchboard and radio communication systems
- Operate computer-aided dispatch systems using voice, electronic, and data communication tools
- Apply standard emergency communication procedures effectively
- Record and maintain accurate electronic logs for emergency and non-emergency incidents, fleet movement, and personnel activity
- Monitor and operate surveillance, alarm, and other non-verbal communication systems professionally
- Assist with critical incident management tasks
- Perform administrative duties related to emergency communication services
- Ensure all tasks comply with governance, legislative requirements, policies, and standard operating procedures
- Support customer service excellence and workplace productivity initiatives
- Promote responsible use of financial and operational resources
