Job Overview
The Claims Learner will be responsible for processing and administering claims within delegated authority. This includes verifying claim validity, assessing liability, negotiating settlements, and delivering excellent customer service while maintaining cost control.
All claims must be managed in accordance with regulatory requirements and within the framework of short-term insurance compliance standards.

Key Responsibilities
1. Claims Administration and Processing
-
Perform administrative duties, including registering new claims and capturing or authorising payments.

Review and validate new claims and supporting documentation.

Assess claims in line with policy coverage and ensure alignment with company guidelines.

Verify supporting documents related to claim amounts and confirm calculation accuracy.

Maintain document diary records on the IMS system.
-
Update reserves in line with company reserving policies and follow up on outstanding documentation.

Apply sound judgment when evaluating claims exposure and determining appropriate settlement within delegated authority.

Approve claims after verifying documentation and compliance with policy terms.

Escalate complex or disputed claims to the Supervisor.

Coordinate with external service providers in line with company procedures and philosophy.

Maintain accurate and up-to-date claim notes on the system.

Notify the underwriting department of any coverage gaps, missing documentation, or premium adjustments.

Respond to customer queries promptly and professionally in accordance with company policy.
2. Broker and Agent Liaison

Negotiate claim settlements where required.

Communicate regularly with agents and brokers regarding claim progress.

Provide updates to relevant stakeholders on claim status.
3. Additional Duties

Carry out reasonable ad hoc tasks as assigned by the Line Manager.
