Woolworths is looking for enthusiastic and customer-focused individuals to join its team as Customer Assistants: Tills / Foods. Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

• Providing outstanding customer service by welcoming shoppers and assisting with their enquiries.
• Promoting products, special offers, and suitable alternatives when required.
• Processing transactions accurately at the tills and ensuring a positive checkout experience.
• Maintaining well-stocked, organised, and visually appealing food displays through effective stock rotation and replenishment.
• Following food safety, hygiene, and cold chain management procedures at all times.
• Monitoring product quality and removing damaged or expired stock.
• Processing product returns and reporting quality issues where necessary.
• Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised work environment.
• Minimising stock losses by following shrinkage control procedures and reporting suspicious activities.
• Participating in team meetings and supporting departmental objectives.
• Maintaining excellent product knowledge to assist customers effectively.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants should have:

• Grade 12 (Matric) or an equivalent NQF qualification.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Previous experience in food retail or customer service (advantageous).
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Basic literacy and numeracy skills.
• Knowledge of food safety, hygiene practices, and stock handling procedures.
• Strong attention to detail.
• A willingness to work flexible shifts, including weekends, public holidays, and early mornings.
• A professional appearance with excellent punctuality and reliability.
