Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 10 or an equivalent qualification recognized by SAQA.
  • Valid South African driver's license.
  • Valid Professional Driving Permit (PDP).

Knowledge, Skills and Competencies

  • Sound knowledge of vehicle operation and driving procedures.
  • Understanding of government policies and regulations regarding the proper use of official vehicles.
  • Knowledge of vehicle maintenance and basic upkeep procedures.
  • Familiarity with messenger services, registry functions, photocopying, and general office support duties.
  • Good knowledge of the Cape Town metropolitan area and surrounding districts.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide messenger and delivery services for the office.
  • Sort, organize, and distribute correspondence within the registry.
  • Collect and deliver submissions, documents, files, parcels, and official mail.
  • Transport passengers using allocated light and medium motor vehicles.
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance checks on assigned vehicles.
  • Ensure all collected items are properly sealed and addressed before delivery.
  • Obtain signatures from recipients and maintain accurate delivery records.
  • Update delivery registers with details of items delivered and destination addresses.
  • Perform general office support duties, including photocopying, faxing, and shredding documents.
  • Provide administrative assistance as required.
  • Support office security procedures.
  • Assist with registry and switchboard/operator-related functions.
