Minimum Requirements

• Grade 10 (or equivalent qualification).

• Between 1 and 3 years' experience in driving and/or messenger services.

• A valid, unexpired driver's licence.

• Good written and verbal communication skills.

• Ability to work independently, as part of a team, and under pressure.

• Basic literacy skills (reading and writing).

• Willingness to travel and work outside normal working hours when required.

• Basic knowledge of the Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) Act.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe operation and care of departmental light motor vehicles while providing reliable transport support. Duties include:

• Safely drive departmental vehicles to transport officials and deliver documents.

• Collect and deliver official correspondence and other items to various destinations.

• Transport officials as required.

• Perform routine vehicle inspections and report any defects.

• Maintain accurate vehicle logbooks and records.

• Arrange vehicle servicing and repairs when necessary.

• Keep records of fuel purchases, oil usage, and other vehicle-related administrative documents.

• Ensure vehicles are kept clean, roadworthy, and properly stored.

• Assist with loading and offloading goods when required.

• Provide transport support for school children when assigned.

• Carry out any other transport-related duties as instructed.
