🌟 Position Overview

Transnet is seeking a qualified Driver: Port Mobile Equipment to join its operations at TPT Richards Bay MPT.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the safe loading, transportation, and unloading of cargo using appropriate port equipment, ensuring compliance with standard operating procedures to optimise efficiency and minimise damage.

Preference will be given to applicants residing within the King Cetshwayo District.

⚙️ Key Responsibilities

• Conduct daily pre-operation inspections of allocated equipment
• Complete daily task sheets and report any defects to the supervisor
• Maintain fuel and fluid levels of machinery
• Operate equipment according to standard operating procedures
• Handle various machinery, including:
  • Articulated vehicles
  • Tractor/trailer units
  • Forklifts
  • Payloader and tip trucks
• Report any incidents or accidents immediately
• Ensure correct equipment and attachments are used for different cargo types
• Perform end-of-shift checks and duties

🎓 Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 / NQF Level 4
• Valid Code 14 (EC) Driver’s Licence
• Competency certificates for operating equipment (e.g. Dumper, Front-End Loader, Payloader)
• Minimum of 2 years’ relevant experience in:
  • Port operations
  • Maritime services
  • Warehouse tally environments
