Position Overview

MANCOSA is seeking a dedicated Facilities General Worker to support the maintenance and upkeep of its facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out routine maintenance tasks, repairs, and general facility support to ensure a safe, functional, and efficient working environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform routine maintenance and repair work on facilities and equipment.

• Assist with the general upkeep and cleanliness of buildings and work areas.

• Identify and report maintenance issues requiring attention.

• Support facility operations by ensuring equipment and infrastructure remain in good working condition.

• Adhere to all workplace health and safety regulations.

Minimum Requirements

Qualification

• Grade 12 (Matric) or equivalent qualification.

Experience

• Previous experience in maintenance, repairs, or a related field will be advantageous.

Knowledge, Skills and Competencies

• Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical maintenance, carpentry, and general repairs.

• Ability to safely operate hand and power tools.

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

• Good attention to detail and ability to work independently.

• Ability to follow safety procedures and maintenance standards.

Physical Requirements

• Physically fit and capable of lifting heavy objects.

• Comfortable working in different environments, including outdoor areas and confined spaces.

Additional Requirements

• Willingness to work flexible hours, including weekends when required.

• Commitment to maintaining workplace safety standards and regulations.
