About the Opportunity

Wilmar SA is offering a 4-year Apprentice Fitter training programme aimed at developing candidates towards a recognised trade qualification as a Fitter.

Who Can Apply?

Applications are open to South African citizens from previously disadvantaged groups in line with the Employment Equity Act 55 of 1998.

Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

• A Senior Certificate / Matric with:
  • English passed with at least 50%
  • Mathematics (not Mathematics Literacy) passed with at least 40%
• A National N3 Certificate (Engineering Studies) including:
  • Engineering Science
  • Mathematics
  • Trade theory subjects such as Fitting and Machining, Fitting and Turning, or Mechanotechnology
  • An additional technical subject such as Technical Drawings or Engineering Drawings & Graphics
  • All subjects passed with a minimum of 50%

What the Apprenticeship Covers

• Monthly stipend of R4 434 with competency-based increases during the programme
• Institutional training costs
• Toolkit provision
• Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• Meals during training or work periods
