Gauteng Department of Agriculture and Rural Development Internship Programme 2026 – 2028

The Gauteng Department of Agriculture and Rural Development is inviting unemployed South African graduates to apply for its 2026 – 2028 Internship Programme.

The programme offers graduates an opportunity to gain valuable workplace experience and practical training aligned with their qualifications. Successful applicants will be appointed on a non-renewable 24-month contract.

Monthly Stipend

R8 174.75 per month

Financial Management Internship – Ref No: FM2026 (X2 Posts)

Location: Head Office, Johannesburg
Requirements: Diploma or Degree in Financial Management or Accounting Science.

Rural Development Internship – Ref No: RD2026 (X1 Post)

Location: Head Office, Johannesburg
Requirements: Diploma or Degree in Developmental Studies or related qualification.

Record Management Internship – Ref No: RM2026 (X1 Post)

Location: Head Office, Johannesburg
Requirements: Diploma or Degree in Archives and Records Management, Library and Information Science, or related qualification.

Agro-Processing Internship – Ref No: AP2026 (X1 Post)

Location: Head Office, Johannesburg
Requirements: Diploma or Degree in Food Technology, Food Science, or related qualification.

Agricultural Engineering Internship – Ref No: RTDS 2026 (X1 Post)

Location: Head Office, Johannesburg
Requirements: Degree in Agricultural Engineering or related qualification.

Animal Health Internship – Ref No: AH2026/01 (X2 Posts)

Location: Pretoria
Requirements: Diploma or Degree in Animal Health or related qualification.

Animal Health Internship – Ref No: AH2026/02 (X2 Posts)

Location: Germiston
Requirements: Diploma or Degree in Animal Health or related qualification.

Land Care Internship – Ref No: EES2026 (X1 Post)

Location: Head Office, Johannesburg
Requirements: Diploma or Degree in Project Management or Public Management.

Internship Responsibilities

Successful interns will receive structured workplace exposure and practical training related to their field of study. Interns will participate in workplace projects, daily activities, and skills development initiatives under the guidance of experienced professionals.
