General Worker - PG Glass

Purpose of the Role
To support factory operations across various areas, ensuring that production targets and quality standards are consistently achieved throughout the plant.
Key Responsibilities
- Accurately measure incoming glass using a tape measure
- Inspect glass for defects such as cracks, scratches, and uneven edges
- Follow job cards, technical drawings, and process instructions
- Receive and act on instructions from machine operators
- Complete required documentation (manual and electronic) accurately
- Adhere to all safety standards and report any unsafe conditions immediately
- Monitor product quality and report defects to operators
- Ensure correct labelling and job card alignment for all glass items
- Scan and confirm approved glass before forwarding to the next stage
- Dispose of rejected glass and initiate replacements where necessary
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organised work environment
- Record daily production data (quantities, sizes, materials, etc.)
- Handle chemicals safely in line with regulations
- Pack and label glass correctly on racks or trolleys
- Move glass within the facility using pallet jacks and manual handling
- Load and offload materials, including securing loads for transport
- Assist with general cleaning of workspaces, machines, and equipment
- Sign off job cards upon completion of tasks
- Provide support across different production areas as required
Minimum Requirements
Qualifications
- Grade 12 (Matric)
Experience
- At least 1 year of experience in glass processing
