The Maslow Sandton, part of Sun International, is seeking a professional and customer-focused Guest Transport Driver to provide safe and reliable transportation while delivering exceptional guest service. The successful candidate will also assist with luggage handling, valet services, and concierge support to ensure guests enjoy a memorable hotel experience.

Minimum Requirements:

• Grade 12 (Matric).
• Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality environment will be an advantage.
• Valid Code 10 Driver’s Licence with a clean driving record.
• Valid Public Driver’s Permit (PDP).
• Physically fit and able to lift luggage and stand for extended periods.
• Willing to work shifts, including weekends, public holidays, and night shifts.
• Flexible to assist in other hotel departments when required.

Key Responsibilities:

Guest Transport

• Safely transport guests to and from various destinations.
• Plan efficient travel routes using GPS or maps.
• Maintain accurate transport records and required documentation.
• Report any accidents, vehicle defects, or unsafe conditions.
• Collect and deliver items as requested by management.
• Apply transport charges where applicable.

Luggage & Valet Services

• Welcome guests on arrival and departure.
• Assist with loading and unloading luggage.
• Tag, store, and deliver guest luggage safely.
• Escort guests to their rooms and explain room features and hotel facilities.
• Manage luggage storage and maintain accurate records.
• Assist guests with vehicle parking and retrieval.

Vehicle & Work Area Maintenance

• Inspect vehicles before use and report maintenance issues.
• Ensure vehicles are clean, fuelled, and ready for operation.
• Keep parking areas and guest drop-off zones clean and presentable.
• Coordinate vehicle servicing when necessary.

Guest Service

• Deliver friendly, professional, and personalised customer service.
• Respond to guest enquiries and provide information about hotel facilities, promotions, and local attractions.
• Handle guest requests and complaints professionally, referring complex issues when necessary.
• Assist with concierge and telephone duties when required.
• Help prepare welcome packs and VIP guest amenities.

Skills and Competencies:

• Excellent customer service and communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving abilities.
• Professional appearance and positive attitude.
• Good knowledge of local roads, landmarks, and attractions.
• Ability to use GPS navigation systems.
• Safe driving practices.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Attention to detail and organisational skills.
• Knowledge of Opera hotel systems will be advantageous.
