Minimum Requirements

Applicants must have:

  • An NQF Level 6 qualification recognized by SAQA in one of the following fields:
    • Law
    • Public Management
    • Public Administration
    • Policing
    • Criminology
    • Forensics
    • Criminal Justice
  • Basic knowledge of:
    • Immigration Act
    • Refugees Act
    • South African Constitution
    • Public Service legislative framework
  • A valid Code B/C1/C/EC1 driver's licence.
  • A valid Public Driving Permit (PDP).
  • Willingness to travel extensively, including outside South Africa, and work extended hours.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidates will:

  • Enforce the Immigration Act and related legislation.
  • Detect, investigate, arrest and process undocumented foreign nationals.
  • Coordinate deportation processes and maintain related records.
  • Conduct inspections, investigations and compliance operations.
  • Prepare evidence and appear in court when required.
  • Issue notices, fines and detention warrants.
  • Support anti-corruption and law enforcement investigations.
  • Monitor compliance with immigration permits and visas.
  • Work closely with law enforcement and security agencies.
  • Safeguard departmental assets and maintain accurate case records.
  • Participate in ongoing training and professional development.
