Minimum Requirements
Applicants must possess:
- An undergraduate qualification (NQF Level 6) recognised by SAQA in one of the following fields:
- Law
- Public Management
- Public Administration
- Policing
- Criminology
- Forensics
- Criminal Justice
- Basic knowledge of:
- The Immigration Act
- The Refugees Act
- The Constitution of South Africa
- Public Service legislation and regulatory framework
- A valid Code B, C1, C or EC1 driver's licence
- A valid Public Driving Permit (PDP)
- Willingness to travel, including outside South Africa where required
- Ability to work extended hours when operationally required

Key Responsibilities
The successful candidates will be responsible for:
- Enforcing the Immigration Act, Refugees Act and other applicable legislation.
- Detecting, tracing, apprehending and processing illegal foreigners.
- Facilitating the detention and deportation of undocumented foreign nationals.
- Conducting inspections and investigations into immigration-related offences.
- Supporting law enforcement agencies during investigations and anti-corruption operations.
- Preparing and presenting evidence in court proceedings and departmental hearings.
- Issuing notices, fines and other legal documentation where applicable.
- Conducting interviews with individuals suspected of violating immigration laws.
- Processing detention warrants and monitoring case records.
- Monitoring undocumented migration within South Africa.
- Verifying the identity of detained or convicted foreign nationals.
- Participating in deportation processes and ensuring compliance with immigration permits.
- Assisting with joint operations alongside other law enforcement and security agencies.
- Providing expert evidence to support criminal investigations.
- Maintaining accurate records of legal and illegal foreign nationals.
- Safeguarding departmental assets and implementing approved operational policies and procedures.
- Participating in ongoing training to strengthen law enforcement knowledge and operational effectiveness.
