Overview

The Building Company is offering a structured Wholesale & Retail learnership programme designed to combine theoretical training with practical workplace experience. This programme leads to a nationally recognised qualification aligned with the NQF framework.

Key Responsibilities

• Attend all required classroom-based training sessions
• Complete assessments, assignments, and a Portfolio of Evidence (PoE) in accordance with W&RSETA standards
• Carry out daily retail duties, including:
  • Assisting customers and providing basic service
  • Merchandising and restocking shelves
  • Supporting point-of-sale (POS) activities where required
  • Maintaining store cleanliness and housekeeping standards
• Adhere to company policies, procedures, and operational guidelines
• Follow all health and safety regulations in the workplace
• Maintain accurate logbook records of practical experience
• Demonstrate professionalism, punctuality, and consistent attendance
• Engage with supervisors, mentors, and facilitators to support learning progress

Minimum Requirements

• Must be unemployed and eligible for a W&RSETA learnership
• Grade 12 (Matric) qualification
• Basic literacy and numeracy skills
• South African citizen (as required for funding)
• Clear criminal record
• Willing to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays
• Must not have previously completed an unemployed learnership
