Programme Overview
This learnership provides both theoretical training and practical workplace experience within a retail environment. Learners will gain valuable skills in customer service, merchandising, and store operations while working towards a recognised qualification aligned with W&RSETA requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Attend all structured training sessions conducted by the appointed training provider
- Complete assessments, assignments, and a Portfolio of Evidence (PoE) in line with W&RSETA standards
- Carry out daily retail duties, including:
- Assisting customers and providing basic customer service
- Merchandising and restocking shelves
- Supporting point-of-sale (POS) processes where required
- Maintaining cleanliness and housekeeping standards in-store
- Adhere to company policies, procedures, and standard operating guidelines
- Comply with workplace health and safety regulations
- Keep accurate records of workplace experience in a logbook
- Demonstrate professionalism, punctuality, and consistent attendance
- Actively engage with supervisors, mentors, and facilitators to support learning progress
Minimum Requirements
- Currently unemployed and eligible for a W&RSETA-funded learnership
- Grade 12 (Matric) qualification
- Basic literacy and numeracy skills
- South African citizen
- Clear criminal record
- Willingness to work retail hours, including weekends and public holidays
- Must not have previously completed an unemployed learnership
