Role Overview

The Picker/Packer is responsible for accurately selecting, packing, and preparing goods for dispatch within the warehouse. This includes handling incoming and outgoing stock, ensuring items are correctly labeled, and assisting with loading and offloading deliveries.

Key Responsibilities

• Receive, unpack, and inspect incoming stock
• Pick and pack orders accurately based on picking slips
• Ensure correct stock is issued and dispatched daily
• Prepare items for delivery, including weighing and labeling
• Check products for damage and report any issues
• Maintain product knowledge for efficient order fulfilment
• Assist with stock counts and investigate stock variances
• Manage back orders and communicate delays proactively
• Report equipment faults or mechanical issues
• Identify and suggest improvements within the warehouse
• Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean workspace
• Support general warehouse operations as required

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• Relevant qualification (advantageous)
• 2–3 years’ experience in a similar warehouse role
• Computer literacy and familiarity with scanning devices
• Understanding of warehouse safety standards
• Strong communication skills (written and verbal)
• High level of accuracy and attention to detail
• Good organisational and time management skills
• Physical fitness and stamina

Key Competencies

• Ability to work independently and under pressure
• Strong attention to detail and structured approach
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint)
• Excellent interpersonal and client relationship skills
• Energetic, reliable, and driven with high work standards
