Internship Programme Opportunities

South African National Parks (SANParks) is the country’s leading conservation authority, managing over 3.7 million hectares of protected land across 20 national parks. SANParks operates in terms of the National Environmental Management: Protected Areas Act (Act 57 of 2003).

SANParks invites applications from unemployed graduates who have completed a Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma (NQF Level 6 or 7) at a public Higher Education Institution (HEI) in South Africa. Successful candidates will be placed on a 12-month internship programme and will receive a monthly stipend of R6,355.69. Please note that completion of the internship does not guarantee permanent employment.

Minimum Requirements

To be considered for the Internship Placement Programme, applicants must:

• Be an unemployed graduate between the ages of 18 and 35

• Be a South African citizen

• Have completed a Bachelor’s Degree or National Diploma (NQF 6 or 7) in the relevant field from a South African public HEI

• Not have previously been employed or participated in any internship or placement programme

• Be a resident of the Eastern Cape Province

    • Academic qualifications and full academic transcript

• Applicants applying outside their area of residence must arrange their own accommodation and transport, as only a stipend is provided

• Incomplete applications will not be considered

• Shortlisted candidates will be required to attend assessments and interviews at a time, date, and venue determined by SANParks

• Applicants with foreign qualifications must ensure these are evaluated by SAQA

• All internship appointments are subject to verification and pre-screening

• SANParks reserves the right not to make an appointment
