Salary Packages

• CB1-1: R212 358 per annum
• CB1-2: R257 895 per annum
• CB1-3: R313 521 per annum

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric)
• Successful completion of the Correctional Science Learnership / Basic Training

Experience Requirements:

• CB1-1: No prior experience required
• CB1-2: Minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience at CB1-1 level
• CB1-3: Minimum of 10 years’ relevant experience at CB1-2 level

• Computer literacy
• Firearm competency
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Report writing ability
• Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and procedures
• Understanding of minimum security standards in correctional facilities

Key Responsibilities

• Manage access control within the correctional centre and between different sections
• Monitor and control the movement of inmates internally and externally
• Guard inmates within correctional facilities and at external institutions
• Conduct routine security inspections
• Manage stores and security equipment
• Operate and oversee the security control room
• Contribute to offender rehabilitation within a safe, secure, and humane environment
