Vacancy Overview

South Group Recycling is looking for a skilled Truck Driver to operate a 7-ton truck fitted with a crane for loading and offloading materials. This role combines driving duties with warehouse support, requiring a dependable and hands-on individual with strong technical knowledge and the ability to manage daily operational tasks.

Key Responsibilities

Truck Operation & Crane Handling

• Safely operate a 7-ton truck
• Use the onboard crane to load and offload materials
• Conduct daily vehicle inspections and report any faults
• Comply with road safety, transport, and load regulations

Delivery & Logistics

• Complete scheduled collections and deliveries on time
• Secure loads properly and maintain accurate trip logs
• Ensure all deliveries are accompanied by correct documentation
• Communicate effectively with dispatch and clients

Warehouse Supervision (When Not Driving)

• Oversee warehouse staff and assign daily tasks
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organised workspace
• Monitor stock movement and ensure proper storage
• Assist with receiving, sorting, and storing goods

Inventory & Operations

• Perform regular stock counts and report discrepancies
• Support efficient workflow on the warehouse floor
• Assist management with daily operational or admin tasks
• Identify and resolve operational issues proactively

Minimum Requirements

Qualifications:

• Valid Code 10 Driver’s Licence
• Professional Driving Permit (PDP)

Experience & Skills:

• Proven experience operating trucks with crane equipment
• Basic mechanical and technical knowledge of vehicles
• Ability to supervise warehouse staff
• Physically fit and able to perform manual duties
• Strong communication and organisational skills
• Willingness to work flexible hours when required
