Successful candidates will be placed as Service Area Assistants within the Deli, Bakery, and Produce departments across various stores in Gauteng.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist with product preparation, merchandising, and stock replenishment
• Ensure compliance with hygiene, food safety, and quality standards
• Provide excellent customer service
• Support stock rotation processes and reduce waste
• Collaborate with team members to achieve departmental goals

Minimum Requirements

• TVET qualification or currently studying in Hospitality, Food Services, Retail, or a related field
• Strong interest in retail and customer service roles
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and public holidays
• Positive attitude and eagerness to learn

Programme Overview

Key Responsibilities

• Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner
• Assist customers by providing product knowledge, including locations, features, and benefits
• Handle customer queries and complaints effectively, escalating when necessary
• Pack and merchandise shelves according to company standards, ensuring proper rotation and display of products
• Maintain a clean, organised, and visually appealing store environment
• Follow established procedures to ensure consistency in operations and customer experience
• Communicate clearly with customers, colleagues, and management
• Promote products and assist in driving sales

Operational Duties

• Maintain high store standards and visual merchandising
• Monitor product quality, rotate stock, and remove expired items
• Minimise waste, shrinkage, and damages
• Ensure correct pricing and labelling of products
• Maintain hygiene, housekeeping, and safety standards (both on the floor and in storage areas)
• Monitor temperatures and maintain the cold chain where applicable
• Operate and clean equipment according to set guidelines
• Adhere to all security procedures
