All internships offer a monthly stipend of R7 860.50 and are hosted at various departmental offices and forestry estates.

Pretoria and Limpopo Applications:
Applications must be submitted to the Director-General, Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment, Private Bag X447, Pretoria, 0001. Alternatively, applications may be hand-delivered to Environment House, Erf 1563 Arcadia Extension 6, Corner of Soutpansberg and Steve Biko Road, Arcadia, Pretoria.

Applicants may also submit their applications via email to the relevant email address, clearly indicating the reference number of the post in the subject line.

Cape Town, Free State and Northern Cape Applications:
Applications must be addressed to the Director-General, Department of Forestry, Fisheries and the Environment, Attention: Director – Integrated Human Resource Management, Private Bag X4390, Cape Town, 8000.

Applications may also be hand-delivered to 14 Loop Street, Cape Town, or emailed to the relevant email address, ensuring that the correct reference number appears in the subject line.

Important Notes

Applications must be submitted on the new signed Z83 application form, which can be obtained from any Public Service Department, and must be accompanied by a recent, detailed Curriculum Vitae (CV).

For Senior Management Service (SMS) positions, candidates must have successfully completed the Senior Management Pre-Entry Programme offered by the National School of Government (NSG) prior to appointment. The programme, titled “Certificate for Entry into SMS,” can be accessed through the National School of Government website.

In addition, shortlisted candidates will be required to complete two pre-entry assessments:

• A practical assessment to evaluate technical and generic competencies relevant to the position

• An integrity (ethical conduct) assessment

Following the interview and technical assessment, recommended candidates may also undergo a generic managerial competency assessment, in line with the DPSA Directive on competency-based assessments.

The successful candidate will be required to undergo security clearance, and sign both a performance agreement and an employment contract. The Department reserves the right not to make an appointment.
