SBV Services is inviting motivated young South Africans to apply for a Cash Processor opportunity at its Kempton Park branch through the YES4Youth Programme. This role offers valuable hands-on experience in cash processing, reconciliation, and banking operations while working in a secure, fast-paced cash management environment.

Key Responsibilities

Cash Receiving & Processing

• Receive cash deposits and capture them on the relevant systems.
• Inspect cash bags and containers for damage or signs of tampering, reporting any irregularities to the Team Controller.
• Process deposits according to bank Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
• Prepare workstations for efficient cash and note counting.
• Ensure compliance with company policies to minimise operational risks.

Cash Sorting & Verification

• Sort and process banknotes within daily cut-off times.
• Reconcile Automated Cash Deposit Processing (ACDP) deposits.
• Verify rejected notes for counterfeit, dye-stained, or damaged currency.
• Transfer cash securely to designated vaults.
• Perform end-of-day balancing and reconciliation of all cash transactions.
• Manage shortages and surpluses according to company procedures.

Desktop Deposit Processing

• Process customer deposits accurately while keeping each customer's deposits separate.
• Verify deposits and complete same-day processing where required.
• Balance all transactions on the relevant systems.
• Perform daily reconciliations and maintain accurate records.

Coin Processing

• Process bulk coin deposits in accordance with company procedures.
• Sort and process teller coin transfers accurately.

Bank System Integration

• Validate transactions linked to integrated banking systems.
• Verify account numbers before processing deposits.
• Notify Client Services of account issues to prevent delays.
• Escalate system downtime or processing delays to the Team Controller.

Payroll & Change Processing

• Process payroll and change orders within agreed customer SLAs.
• Report discrepancies promptly.
• Seal and prepare float bags according to client specifications.
• Obtain bank authorisation before dispatching cash.

Treasury Support

• Assist with packing and unpacking cash for banks and ATMs.
• Manage cash packing materials and consumables.
• Ensure all bag and seal numbers are recorded correctly.

Equipment Management

• Operate company equipment according to Standard Operating Procedures.
• Report faulty equipment to the Team Controller.
• Help maintain company assets and equipment in good working condition.

Minimum Requirements

• Grade 12 (Matric) with Mathematical Literacy.
• Previous cashier or teller experience (approximately 6 months) will be an added advantage.
