DELIVERY ASSISTANT (X5 POSTS)

PepsiCo is seeking 5 Delivery Assistants to support delivery drivers in ensuring that products reach customers safely, accurately and on time.

Key Responsibilities

The successful candidates will assist with the day-to-day delivery of products and provide support to drivers and customers. Duties include:

• Offloading products from delivery vehicles at customer locations.

• Carrying product crates to customer premises and returning empty crates to the truck.

• Placing products on customer shelves or in designated receiving areas.

• Counting stock to confirm that the correct quantities have been delivered.

• Assisting drivers with vehicle manoeuvring, particularly when reversing.

• Loading and unloading products at depots and customer sites.

• Ensuring products are properly secured before delivery.

• Assisting with delivery documentation and Proof of Delivery (POD) control.

• Supporting the driver-salesperson with daily operational activities.

• Ensuring customer orders are delivered within the required timeframes.

• Maintaining good customer service throughout the delivery process.

• Managing and maintaining proper crate control.

• Following all applicable safety procedures and promptly reporting accidents or incidents.

• Ensuring operational policies and procedures are followed correctly and professionally.

• Greeting and interacting with customers in a courteous and professional manner.

Minimum Qualifications and Requirements

Applicants should have:

• Grade 12 / Matric.

• A valid driver's licence may be required and Code 10 with PDP may be advantageous.

• Previous sales experience may be advantageous.

• Good communication and customer-service skills.

• Ability to lift, carry and move heavy products.

• Good attention to detail and accuracy when counting stock.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• Ability to work well as part of a team.

• Understanding of safe working practices and distribution processes.
