Note:
The Department of Electricity and Energy invites suitably qualified candidates to apply for the Graduate Internship Programme for the 2026/2027 – 2027/2028 financial years. Graduates with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply. Successful applicants will be responsible for arranging their own accommodation and transport for the duration of the internship.
Applicants must submit their applications using the 2021 version of the Z83 application form, clearly quoting the relevant reference number, together with a comprehensive curriculum vitae (CV) only. The CV must reflect qualifications, experience (where applicable), and the duration thereof. The Z83 form can be obtained from www.dpsa.gov.za or www.gov.za/documents.
All sections (A, B, C, and D) of the Z83 form must be completed in full. In Sections E, F, and G, applicants may indicate “refer to CV” or “see attached” due to limited space; however, the question relating to re-appointment under Part F must be answered. Applicants must initial each page and sign the declaration.
Email applications must be submitted as a single PDF document containing both the Z83 form and CV combined. The correct job title and reference number must be stated in the subject line of the email, and applications must be sent to the correct email address for the specific post. Applications submitted in JPEG format will not be accepted. Failure to comply will result in disqualification. Applications submitted on outdated Z83 forms will not be considered.
Each advertised post requires a separate application form. Only shortlisted candidates will be requested to submit certified copies of qualifications and supporting documents on or before the interview date. Faxed applications will not be accepted.
Late applications or those that do not meet the stated requirements will not be considered. Where an applicant applies for more than one post using the same application form, only the first post indicated will be considered. Applicants who have previously participated in any government internship programme will not be eligible. Students requiring experiential training must attach a formal letter from their tertiary institution.
Successful candidates will undergo personnel suitability checks, including criminal record, citizenship, financial/asset records, qualification verification, employment verification, and security clearance. Failure to submit all required documents will result in the application not being considered.
If applicants have not been contacted within three (3) months after the closing date, they should regard their application as unsuccessful. Due to the anticipated volume of applications, acknowledgements will not be issued, and correspondence will be limited to shortlisted candidates only.
The Department of Electricity and Energy is an equal opportunity and affirmative action employer and is committed to improving representivity within the Public Sector.
