About the Role

Sun International is seeking a professional and customer-focused Driver to provide exceptional transport, luggage handling, and guest service throughout the guest experience. The successful candidate will play a key role in creating a memorable stay by ensuring safe transportation, efficient luggage assistance, and outstanding hospitality.

Key Responsibilities

Vehicle & Operational Readiness

  • Conduct routine inspections of vehicles and report any maintenance requirements.
  • Ensure vehicles, parking areas, and guest arrival zones are clean and presentable.
  • Monitor fuel levels and vehicle readiness before guest transportation.
  • Review daily arrivals, departures, and VIP guest requirements.
  • Familiarize yourself with local routes, destinations, and attractions.
  • Coordinate vehicle servicing and maintenance when required.
  • Assist with the preparation and distribution of guest welcome amenities.
  • Maintain knowledge of hotel facilities, services, promotions, and activities.

Guest Transportation Services

  • Safely transport guests to and from various destinations.
  • Assist guests with loading and unloading luggage.
  • Greet guests warmly and provide professional customer service throughout the journey.
  • Support guests with special needs where required.
  • Plan travel routes and maintain transport logs and documentation.
  • Collect and deliver items as requested by management.
  • Report accidents, incidents, damages, or unsafe conditions immediately.

Luggage & Guest Assistance

  • Assist guests with luggage collection, tagging, and delivery.
  • Escort guests and luggage to reception or designated areas.
  • Ensure a welcoming and positive guest experience at all times.
  • Respond to guest enquiries and provide accurate information about the resort and surrounding area.
  • Handle guest concerns, complaints, and requests professionally, escalating when necessary.
  • Build positive relationships with guests by understanding and anticipating their needs.

Minimum Requirements

  • Grade 12 (Matric)
  • Valid Code 10 Driver’s Licence
  • Valid Public Driver’s Permit (PDP)
  • Clean driving record

Experience

  • Previous experience in a customer service or hospitality environment will be advantageous.

Skills & Competencies

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Strong communication skills in English (verbal and written)
  • Good problem-solving abilities
  • Attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to read maps, directions, and use GPS navigation systems
  • Knowledge of local attractions, landmarks, and routes
  • Professional appearance and friendly demeanor
  • Strong driving skills and road safety awareness

Working Conditions

  • Ability to work shifts, including weekends, public holidays, and evenings
  • Physically fit and capable of lifting luggage and standing for extended periods
  • Flexible and willing to assist in other operational areas when required
