Position Overview
Ekurhuleni West TVET College is inviting applications for Hospitality Trainees within the Utilities Department at its Germiston Campus. This opportunity is designed to provide practical workplace experience to qualified candidates in the hospitality field.
Minimum Requirements
- N6 Certificate in Hospitality
- Must not have previously completed an 18-month internship or training programme
Key Responsibilities
- Compile and place orders for kitchen supplies
- Conduct stocktaking of food items and equipment
- Manage storekeeping and issue ingredients as required
- Assist with nutrition planning and menu development
- Support lecturers during practical demonstrations
- Prepare meals for the crèche
- Liaise with suppliers and obtain quotations
- Assist in planning and coordinating functions
- Maintain up-to-date MSDS records in the kitchen
- Ensure Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) compliance
- Supervise students during functions and restaurant service days

- As soon as possible
