INTERNSHIP PROGRAMME 2026/2028

Application Process:
Applications for the internship programme can be submitted through the following methods:

Important Information

Applicants must submit:

  • A fully completed and signed new Z83 Form (available at any Public Service Department or at www.gov.za/documents)
  • A detailed CV including final-year modules/subjects completed and passed

Failure to comply with these requirements will result in disqualification.

Only shortlisted candidates will be required to submit certified copies of their ID, Senior Certificate, and highest qualification on or before the interview date.

  • Applicants with international qualifications must have them evaluated by SAQA

Programme Overview

The dtic invites unemployed graduates to apply for its 24-month Internship Programme, running from 01 July 2026 to 30 June 2028.

This programme aims to provide practical work experience, skills development, and exposure to prepare candidates for meaningful participation in the labour market.

Candidates who align with the dtic’s vision of a dynamic, inclusive, and globally competitive South African economy are encouraged to apply.


Stipend

R7 860.50 per month (based on highest qualification at the time of appointment)

Sunnyside, Pretoria


Minimum Requirements

Applicants must be unemployed South African graduates with a qualification (NQF Level 6 or higher) in one of the following fields:

  • Public Management / Public Administration
  • Business Management / Business Administration
  • Human Resource Management / Development
  • Communication / Public Relations
  • Law
  • Software Development
  • Economics
  • Statistics / Econometrics
  • Agricultural Economics / Forestry Science
  • Development Studies
  • Accounting / Financial Management / Cost & Management Accounting
  • Risk Management
  • Internal Auditing / Auditing
  • Natural Sciences (Microbiology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology, Bioengineering)
  • Mining Engineering / Metallurgy
  • Occupational Health and Safety
  • Supply Chain Management / Procurement
  • International Politics
